Toussaint Myricks

Mr. Myricks has a wealth of experience as a patent attorney, technology analyst, commercial agreement negotiator and expert on patent portfolio management, intellectual property valuation and intellectual property commercialization strategies.

Currently, he serves as Of Counsel with the Hughes Media Law Group, PLLC and is the founder and principal attorney for his private law practice, the Myricks Law Group. Mr. Myricks previously served as Chief Patent Counsel for Vulcan, Inc., the company formed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and as Vice President and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Patentcafe.com, an innovative developer of software technology for mining patent portfolios. His private law practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications on inventions in the electrical and software art fields involving computer software systems, computer networks, telecommunications systems, multimedia systems, speech and image processing applications, and artificial intelligence technologies. He counsels business owners, entrepreneurs and independent inventors on patent portfolio management, patent infringement, patent invalidity, intellectual property and technology licensing, intellectual property valuation, and related strategic business matters. Mr. Myricks also has significant experience drafting and negotiating intellectual property license agreements, software license agreements, technology transfer agreements, joint venture agreements, technology development agreements, collaborative research agreements, and product distribution agreements.

Mr. Myricks holds a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering from M.I.T, a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and law degrees from the Franklin Pierce Law Center (now University of New Hampshire law school). He is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and a registered patent agent with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Washington, the District of Columbia and before US District Court for the Western District of Washington, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the US Supreme Court. He has active memberships with the Washington State Bar Association and the Washington State Patent Law Association.
